Regimes of Truth and Light: Yale, Eugenics, and the Early American Environmental Movement
This thesis offers an examination of the related histories of eugenics, American environmentalism, and Yale University during the Progressive Movement. By reading across archival collections, connections between these seemingly-disparate movements were revealed, such as the spirit of improvement and betterment held to be basic in each. Furthermore, at its core, this thesis operates as a placeholder within the Yale University archives, meant to grease the wheels for future research done on the history of eugenics at Yale.
